GENERAL SALES MANAGER
Scope Supervises sales staff for local direct and agency accounts for WSSX, WIWF, and WTMA (including USC Gamecock Sports) radio properties. Responsible for planning and implementing sales programs and incentives designed to maximize sales revenues and achieve revenue goals set forth by the company. General Responsibilities • Plans and strategizes creative market penetration in order to achieve short and long term sales and business objectives • Manages pricing strategy and recommend action and enforcement • Oversees efforts of sales team by reviewing sales proposals and negotiating with clients • Develops sales commission and incentive plans with oversight by General Manager • Recruits, hires, trains, supervises and motivates sales personnel with oversight by General Manager • Provides regular performance feedback to staff • Develops and manages annual departmental budget Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations • Understanding of broadcasting, pricing inventory, ratings, marketing, promotion and collection standard • Extensive knowledge for sales principles and practices • Excellent leadership, negotiating, verbal and written communication skills • Computer literacy in applicable programs • Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels • Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines • 5 years of successful radio sales history Education and Licensing Requirements: Associates degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent level of experience Must possess valid state drivers license Physical Requirements: May require lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.
