Arizona GOP Senate candidate Kari Lake told Newsmax on Monday that her Democrat opponent, Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., is “absolutely radical” and the “farthest-left person running this cycle.”
Lake and Gallego are locked in a tight Senate race in the Grand Canyon State that the latest polling suggests is getting closer by the day.
“He’s voted for open borders, he’s voted for every policy that’s caused our economy to spiral downward,” Lake said during an appearance on Newsmax’s “American Agenda.” “He’s an open borders zealot — that’s what [former] President [Donald] Trump calls him and it is absolutely true. We need to make sure that we are not voting for Ruben Gallego — somebody who has empowered the cartels. I want to confront the cartels, end their reign of terror, end their human smuggling and their drug smuggling, which is really taking out an entire generation of young people, the fentanyl crisis.”
