Robert Wilkie to Newsmax: Hamas Pushing for Agreement Before Trump Arrives

Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s meeting at the White House with President Joe Biden on Tuesday comes as Hamas makes “one last try” to reach a peace agreement before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Wilkie tells Newsmax.

“They know that [during] his four years in office, [Trump] showed unwavering support for Israel’s right to fight back, Israel’s right to survive,” Wilkie told Newsmax’s “Wake Up America.” “He was certainly someone that the Israelis could count on when it came to their struggles against the Iranian-backed terrorists who are on their border.”

The meeting between Herzog and Biden on Tuesday also comes as the outgoing administration is seeking progress in cease-fire talks in Lebanon and Gaza before Trump takes power, reports ABC News.
