Acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is stepping away from directing films for his next project, with his sights set on the stage, he said in an interview with journalist Elvis Mitchell.

“If you’re wondering what I’m doing right now, I’m writing a play” Tarantino said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s probably going to be the next thing I end up doing.”

The remarks came several months after it emerged that Tarantino had scrapped “The Movie Critic,” which was set to be his 10th and final film. Citing sources, Deadline reported in April that Tarantino dropped the film for no reason other than changing his mind.
