CNN’s Jim Acosta, who became widely known for his sparring matches with President Donald Trump and members of his administration during Trump’s first term in office, announced he’s leaving the network after being pulled from the schedule.

Acosta announced his decision at the end of Tuesday’s program, telling viewers to “hold on to the truth” and that “it is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant,” Variety reported.

On Monday, the Status newsletter reported Acosta told associates privately over the weekend that he intends to leave after Mark Thompson, the network’s chief executive, removed him from the morning programming lineup and his 10 a.m. program, which has enjoyed high ratings.
