Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr on Monday issued a statement urging the state Supreme Court to reject Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ appeal of the decision removing her from prosecuting the case against President-elect Donald Trump.

“Lawfare has become far too common in American politics, and it must end. As such, I would encourage the Georgia Supreme Court to not take her appeal,” Carr wrote on social media.

Earlier this month, a Georgia appeals court ruled that the relationship between Willis and former special prosecutor Nathan Wade had the “significant appearance of impropriety” and concluded that the trial court “erred by failing to disqualify DA Willis and her office” from prosecuting the criminal case against Trump.
